Start with the memory you want to give
Pick the thread where the birthday person actually appears: your one-to-one conversation, a friends’ group or a shared trip’s chat. The secret birthday-planning thread mostly tells the organisers’ story. For a gift centred on the recipient, their own exchanges provide more relevant material. Think about the memories they will enjoy recognising, rather than the conversation easiest to find on your phone.
Select the participants who belong to that story. A report for two can revisit your connection; a group report offers a chronicle of the friends. Discuss the project with those involved and keep a context that fits your surprise. You are giving a different reading of a shared conversation, not an investigation into the recipient’s entire life. The choice of chat is part of the gift.
From messages to something worth keeping
Follow our guide to export the WhatsApp Without media. Michel analyses text: upload a .txt file or a .zip containing it, with at least 300 parseable messages. Pictures and voice notes are not read. Browse the public sample for the format, then discover the free preview using your conversation. You can see the beginning before unlocking the full report.
Reveal the report, not just a link
During the party, set aside a moment to read the recipient’s portrait and show the group card. If you live far apart, send the link with a personal message explaining why you chose this conversation. An individual card can introduce the surprise; the PDF gives them something to keep afterwards. These are ways to offer the report with the same care as the memory.
The result is an illustrated magazine bringing together nicknames, portraits, commentary and statistics from the imported exchanges. Unlock the full report created from this chat, then share it with the recipient. Prepare the export and read the result ahead of the birthday. Michel signs the chronicle, and your own birthday words give it an occasion.
